Mass Control 2.0 Rocked The Hard Rock

You have no idea what you missed by not attending Mass Control 2.0 in San Diego. Never have I been to a conference where I have had this much fun, nor made this many networking connections. This is by far the best damned conference I have been to thus far. The energy was amazing, the speakers had lots of great information to share and the night scene was incredible. Frank and his crew could not have picked a better venue than the Hard Rock in San Diego. What an amazing hotel experience this place offers. There is way too much to write about in a blog post without overloading you with information. So, I thought I could sum up my experience with this top 10 list below:

Mass Control 2.0 Conference – I’m Here!

Hey school housers – I don’t think that is a word, but it is now. Anyways, I landed in San Diego about 2 hours ago and headed on over to the Hard Rock hotel. The lobby is stunning and the people working here are really nice. Anyways, I have made my first video from my room, while hanging out with one of my best friends, @wirelesspacket – “Lenny” via iChat. The blog posts will be fast and furious, short and to the point because the bulk of the content will be in video form. So, with that said, here is your first video. I hope to bring you alot of fun video for the next 4 days so that you can be a part of this epic conference. As Diddy says, “LETS GOOOOO!” I’m locked in….

Commission Junction And Others Strike Back Against Internet Tax

While checking my stats over at Commission Junction this morning, I noticed that they had a very bright graphic on the welcome screen that stated, “We oppose the CA internet retail tax!”

I had to click it because I agree that this internet taxation is a bunch of bologna, and well the call to action was beautifull designed – lol! I think it’s a weak attempt on behalf of state officials to penalize affiliate marketers and the businesses they run in order to dig themselves out of a bad situation. Shawn Collins, over at AffiliateTip.com, isn’t too happy about it either – read what he has to say over here. Anyways, CJ has posted up the submitted documentation that explains the potential pit falls of putting the nexus tax – internet taxation into place. This coalition is comprised of many powerful companies that are standing together in opposition of the proposed bill in the state of California. I applaud them all. It’s gonna be a cliffhanger for sure.

Here is the opening statement on behalf of the coalition against the proposed internet tax in California:
Threatens California Technology Sector Jobs and Harms California Online Marketplace
Companies, E-Commerce Companies, Small Businesses, Nonprofits, Many Others

The below-listed business and employer organizations and companies must respectfully OPPOSE AB 178 AND ABX3 27 (Skinner and Calderon) which we believe could harm highly-coveted California technology sector companies, such as online marketplace and other e-commerce companies, by placing them at a severe competitive disadvantage, nationally and globally.

AB 178 AND ABX3 27 would establish that California nexus is created when any retailer enters into any referral agreement with a California resident in exchange for compensation or commission, such as by a link, website, or otherwise, which generates referrals in excess of $10,000 in sales. “Nexus” refers to the U.S. Constitution’s requirement that an out-of-state retailer have a sufficient physical connection with a state before the state can force the retailer to collect the state’s sales or use tax.

I have a passion for beautiful web design, handsome graphics, and slick icons. I could literally spend hours surfing the web to marvel at amazing design. I have decided to add this passion of mine to the affiliate school house. We will begin featuring posts surrounding design for those affiliates who like to build their own sites and graphics.  Have you been looking for some fresh “follow me” twitter buttons to spruce up your blog or website? I’m hopelessly addicted to nice buttons and icons. One of my favorite places to visit for twitter buttons is…wait for it….wait for it…TwitterButtons.com.

Original name, I know. But, nonetheless, this site is a great resource for your twitter button needs. Simply browse through their extensive catalog of free twitter buttons, find the one that you like, enter your twitter id within the id capture box, click copy the code, and then embed on your site! Voila! Couldn’t be any easier.

Putting one of these on your site is not as user friendly as twitterbuttons.com. On these sites you will need to do the following:

1. Find the twitter button or twitter badge that you like
2. Right click on the twitter image you like and save to your desktop
3. Upload that button to your server via FTP
4. Insert the button into your blog using the add image tool feature or hand-code the html to add to  your website.

Ryan Deiss’ Million Dollar Bar Napkin

While checking my extremely cluttered  inbox this evening, I came across an email from Frank Kern – Mr. Mass Control himself, that suggested I take a minute of my time and visit Ryan Deiss’ website, www.continuityblueprint.com. There, I would find some fascinating free information and a story of how Ryan jotted down a blueprint for his business on a beverage napkin in a bar in Dallas, Tx. This bar napkin business blueprint has enabled him to create massive streams of continuous income over and over! With copy like that, I just couldn’t resist. Right off of the bat,  I must say that I was floored that Ryan gave all this information away for free. Normally, when people give away free videos they are mediocre at best. Ryan shattered my expectations and truly delivers some amazing information. What he shares within these three videos will leave you wanting more and will certainly open your mind to the possibilities building continuity products. All you have to do to get these videos is fill out a small form on Ryan’s website. That’s all there is to it.

The napkin business plan is surprisingly simple in its design and Ryan explains it in great detail,  step by step. The continuity blueprint will require that you actually do something! Yes, you actually have to do some work. This isn’t a get rich quick course. This isn’t another rehashed e-book on how to dominate Google Adwords. This is a true business building course for those who are serious about building long term wealth online. I have a feeling that those who are ready to start building their online business will definitely want to check this resource out and may even consider ordering this course.
